It took a deadly pandemic to see this issue clearly and put the problem into perspective.
I no longer live in London. But I did for 3,5 years. Before Covid, Monday to Friday, I used to commute to and from work. Like so many thousand others. A few weeks ago I found myself in London again, and it had been months since last time. But while I was travelling on an almost empty underground, I caught myself thinking: yes, it’s a pandemic, but I feel a lot less anxious now. Which is crazy!
But pre-Covid, In the midst of the hustle and bustle we forget and deny the things that used to happen to us. ‘Omg, someone just touched my bum... I’m sure it was an accident. People don’t do these things on purpose. Ugh, happened again... Ignore it. Close your eyes. Only two stops away’. Restless, panic. Get me the f*uck out of here. Makes you think.

Absolutely nothing out of the ordinary.
